This baby food includes dal and a vegetable to the rice cereal. It may be advised that you might want to start the baby with just dal water in the initial days and then progress to this combination.
Moong dal is easiest to digest for babies. Hence I've used Moong dal here. You may use Toor Dal once the baby is comfortable with moong dal.
The quantity I've mentioned in the following recipe is only minimal. But once cooked, this would yield close to 1/4 cup (standard measuring cup). Increase the quantity as the baby grows old and is able to accept more feed.
Ingredients
1. Boil the rice, moong dal and carrot together with enough water for 2 whistles in a pressure pan/cooker.
2. Blend the ingredients adding a pinch of salt (optional) to a fine paste.
3. Add jeera/ajwain powder.
4. Add 1-2 tsp of ghee and serve warm.
Note: Since we are pressure cooking and later blending the food, you may use rice directly instead of rice rava. If you are not blending the whole mixture, you may boil rice rava separately and add the cooked, blended carrot and dal to the above cooked rava. This is to introduce textures to the baby.
P.S:
I'm only mentioning foods that I am giving my DS. It is your discretion to use the recipe. Please follow your Doctor's advice. If you find your baby to have some allergies, consult your doctor immediately.
