I had bought a big bunch of spring onions. Was wondering how to finish it off apart from using it in regular soups, dals etc. I then tried this paratha. The taste was awesome. You'll fall in love with this paratha. And what else, its healthy.
Ingredients
- Wheat flour - 1 cup
- Besan / Kadala Maavu / Senaga Pindi - 2-3 tbsp
- Spring Onions - 1/2 cup finely chopped. (if you like, you may increase the quantity)
- Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - as required
- Oil / ghee - as required
Procedure
- Finely chop the spring onions (both white and green)
- Make a dough with all ingredients with sufficient water. Note- water required would be little lesser than usually required.
- Smear a little oil over the dough and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
- Divide into balls and make chapathis in the usual way by smearing either ghee or oil on both sides and cook till done.
- Serve hot with plain curd or any curry.
I find it heavenly even when served without any side dish.
